With this starter set, I was hoping for easy installation and simple operation of all components. This wish was fulfilled perfectly. Commissioning the alarm system components was easy to handle. However, programming via the web interface would still be an advantage. I think it's great that the alarm system can be expanded with many additional accessories as required. The alarm transmission to the cell phone app works perfectly. The only annoying negative point of the alarm system for me is that the alarm triggering cannot be delayed. It would be useful if the alarm system could be switched off within 10 seconds of entering the house, for example, and not always have to be switched off from outside via the app first. Certainly impractical for several residents (including children).
Quite passable. Connects to a Chinese server (!) The product is great for the undemanding home user. It is also the winner of the Stiftung Warentest test (which says a lot about the competition). However, for average requirements in terms of user-friendliness and security (automation; use behind a firewall), the device is completely inadequate. User-friendliness: The user interface is extremely unintuitive and appears to have been programmed by an engineer using a technical flowchart. No user orientation far and wide. However, if you take a closer look, you can configure the system almost satisfactorily without the need for instructions. Security: Unfortunately, there is no time schedule for automatically arming and disarming the system. So you have to remember to activate the alarm system yourself every night before you go to bed. Otherwise the burglars will get into your house unnoticed at night. The system also leaves a lot to be desired in terms of IT security. There is no documentation on the configuration settings of the base station (IP addresses, ports, MAC address) if it is to be installed behind a firewall. This information may be missing because the cheaper Smartvest system appears to use Amazon Web Services and Abus may not be able to provide all the technical details without any doubt. The more expensive Secvest systems, on the other hand, appear to run via dedicated Abus infrastructure. Since the information is missing, finding the IP addresses and ports used is extremely time-consuming. Here are our findings on address ranges to be activated: Incoming (from external, i.e. provider side): 23.21.195.143, 122.248.232.207, 176.34.104.236, each from port 32100. Outgoing (from internal, i.e. base station): All ports (apparently they are not fixed). Connects to a Chinese server (61.139.2.69) each time it connects.
