Dear Migros, I am a Migros child, I buy everything from you. Recently I've been asked when I pay whether I want to make a climate contribution. I was briefly tempted to click "yes", I attach great importance to climate compatibility and seasonal cooking, I also often buy organic products, and when it comes to meat, at least animal welfare.
Then I changed my mind: I would like you, dear Migros, to integrate the climate into your business activities! It's simply not enough if the customer ends up paying an extra €2, that's far too little! I would like you to integrate climate protection into all your activities because you know that it is important for your future success, indeed for your continued existence. I would like you to make this a goal for your producers, suppliers, cold stores, store fitting, offices, choice of electricity producer, etc.. I already pay more for products that are organic and produced in an animal-friendly way and it has been proven that you don't even pass on the extra money to the farmers who have to do the work, which I find an affront.
Paying a climate cent may make sense when flying, because there is no climate-friendly alternative (apart from not flying). But when it comes to shopping, that's the wrong question! It shows that you haven't understood it yet, what a shame!
