I have a question: how can the chicken from Brazil be as sustainable (2*) as the M-Budget chicken from Switzerland (2*)? And the non-M-Budget chicken from Switzerland has one star more in sustainability than the M-Budget, but they come from the same stables in Switzerland? Also with the animal welfare of M-Budget (3*) and not M-Budget (4*), although they have the same husbandry conditions in Switzerland?

Hello Tom87, thank you for your inquiry about Optigal chicken in a roasting bag. We have not carried out any analyses of trans fatty acids in chicken. We therefore refer to literature values relating to raw meat. Meat from non-ruminants generally has a lower concentration of trans fatty acids than meat from ruminants: - Pork approx. 0.4 % - Poultry approx. 0.9 % - Beef approx. 2.7 % The C18:1 isomers make up the main part, with vaccenic acid (C18:1, trans-11) dominating. The proportion of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) is in concentrations < 1 mg/g fat. High-fat cuts of meat generally provide more CLA than low-fat cuts. However, the concentration of CLA also varies due to genetics and feeding. Trans fatty acids can also be produced by heating fats intensively and, above all, repeatedly, for example when frying and deep-frying at high temperatures. However, the amount of trans fatty acids produced depends on the temperature, heating time and also the container material. Kind regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello indios, thank you for your question. Both options are possible. However, we recommend top/bottom heat. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Preparation: Remove the outer foil and yellow skin, pierce at least 6 holes in the top of the bag to allow the steam to escape, preheat the oven to 200°C, place the wrapped roast chicken in an ovenproof dish and roast for approx. 1 hour at max. 200°C. This makes this roast chicken a real delicacy and keeps the oven perfectly clean! Even when eaten cold, the fine flavor comes into its own

3. preheat the oven to 200 degrees
4. place the wrapped roasting bag in an ovenproof dish
5. roast for approx. 1 hour at max. 200 degrees

Top and bottom heat or convection?
Dear guest
Thank you for your interest.
If you want to use convection, we recommend that you select the same cooking temperature (180 degrees) as usual. An improper cooking time when preparing chicken products could cause health problems.
For this reason, Migros also draws attention to the hygiene instructions to be observed on all packaging.
We hope you enjoy your meal and wish you all the best from the M-Infoline team.

Same cooking temperature of 180° with circulating air? It says 200° at the top. So less after all?
What about the two variants?
Dear guest
Thank you for your query.
We recommend at least 180 degrees as standard for both cooking methods. However, the temperature can of course be varied as desired.
Your M-Infoline team wishes you lots of enjoyment!

A very fine product and easy to prepare.
One question about the nutritional table. Do the nutritional values include the spice mix with mustard or do the nutritional values only refer to the chicken without the spice mix? I have a particular question about the added sugar. If the spice mix is also included in the nutritional values, that would be very good for me, because then it would have relatively little sugar per 100g.

Hello M_Niederurner
We are pleased that you like this product. The spice mix and mustard have been included in the nutritional value calculation.

Well seasoned in any case, but when I look at the price per kilo, I'm afraid that the chicken comes from abroad or at least not from free-range farming.
Is the chicken in a roasting bag also available with free-range CH chicken?

Thank you for your Migipedia contribution and your praise. We will be happy to provide you with more information:
The Optigal brand stands for high-quality poultry products of Swiss origin. This means that they are reared on carefully selected farms that have particularly animal-friendly stables and an outdoor run in the form of a conservatory. Clean litter, daylight, fresh air, a pleasant temperature, raised seating areas and plenty of freedom of movement are just some of the features of the husbandry regulations. The same applies to the food: the feed is free from antibiotics, animal meal and genetically modified organisms.
Compliance with all of the above-mentioned regulations is monitored constantly and without prior notice by independent organizations, which allows for the best possible husbandry.

The feed is free of antibiotics? But what about the other antibiotics? I fear the worst!
Hello guest
The addition of antibiotics or genetically modified organisms to feed is strictly prohibited. Any use of medication and medicated feed is only permitted under veterinary supervision and requires a strict indication. These measures are subject to the Swiss Animal Welfare Act.
