Hello Are the raisins unsulphurized?
Hello Andrea39, thank you for your inquiry. Organic products must not be sulphurized. This means that the product you have requested does not contain sulphite. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Are these organic raisins really raisins that are dipped before drying or are they just raisins that are dried?
Hello rekre89, the organic raisins are not dipped, but simply washed with water before and after drying. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Does it bother other people that raisins look like shriveled fingers after a bath?

Daniel_Migros 6 months ago: "Hello iwan92. We are still clarifying exactly what the process looks like. But we can already answer two of your questions: Cottonseed oil can be used in organic products and there are certified organic manufacturers. Best regards, Daniel" Migroleum 2 months ago: "Hello Daniel_Migros, are you still clarifying or do you already have an answer that you could publish? " What does it look like now?
Hoi Migroleum, hoi @ivan92, please excuse our late reply. We have negotiated new specifications with our suppliers and will no longer add cottonseed oil to our organic raisins, but only sunflower oil. At the moment, cottonseed oil is still on the packaging because we want to use up the ones that have already been printed. With regard to "detoxification: Detoxification is done using activated charcoal and bleaching earth. With these two agents, gossypol can be removed from the cottonseed oil without leaving any residue. Both activated charcoal and bleaching earth are not harmful to health and are often used in the food industry. And briefly on the production of "waste products from the clothing industry": When the cotton is harvested, the seeds and the cotton are separated from each other. The cotton goes into textile processing and the seeds are used to produce cottonseed oil. Best regards, Your M-Infoline Team

How is cottonseed oil detoxified? Can it also be used in organic food? Is there a certified organic producer of cottonseed oil?
Hello ivan92 Unfortunately, we do not carry cottonseed oil in our range, so we cannot answer this question. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

The three questions refer to the cottonseed oil used in these raisins.

Hello iwan92. We are still clarifying exactly what the process looks like. However, we can already answer two of your questions: Cottonseed oil can be used in organic products and there are certified organic manufacturers. Best regards, Daniel

Hello Daniel_Migros, are you still clarifying or do you already have an answer that you could publish?

Apparently Migros is keeping quiet about this! It's also pretty tricky when you make cooking(!) oil from waste products from the clothing industry (cotton production). If you're interested: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baumwollsamenöl

What on earth has happened to the organic raisins? They were SUUUPER now they are disappointing. The flavor is less good, the berries are many times smaller and many of the berries seem harder/drier to me.
I'm not sure, but I think Türckei used to be the country of origin, now it's the USA. Now I always have to look at the origin and hope to buy the "good" ones -> a pity. A great pity even.

Hi guest
Thank you for your comment. We are sorry that the organic raisins no longer taste as they used to.
This is the first complaint of this kind for us and we would like to get to the bottom of it. Could you send us your opened packaging? If you agree, please send us the sample to the following address:
Federation of Migros Cooperatives
M-Infoline/ IN_1414692
Limmatstrasse 152
8031 Zurich
Please make sure that you mention your reference number IN_1414692 so that we can allocate the sample immediately.
Of course, you can also return the raisins to your Migros customer service. Again, make sure that the reference number and our address are included.
Thank you for your efforts and have a nice day.
Best regards

Why add vegetable oil to grapes?
Vegetable oil = palm oil? That would be a shame...
Hi Deviant Lily,
Our supplier buys his organic raisins from several producers.
The oil used varies from producer to producer. It can be sunflower oil, cottonseed oil or canola oil, but never palm oil. The presence of oil is necessary to prevent the grapes from sticking together.
We hope you find this information useful, and wish you a good day.
See you soon!
Best regards

Good evening,
I find it irrational to put the organic label on this product knowing that these same grapes have just traveled halfway around the world (USA) to land in your pretty little beige packages. I think it's time to take the transport of the product into consideration, so that the organic label makes more sense...
As far as I know, we have enough vines in the canton of Vaud not to have to go all the way to the USA to get them... So what's the problem?

Hi there,
We understand your criticism. It's true, however, that local grape production is not sufficient to cover demand. Wherever possible, we always give preference to local products.
Best regards

Is this the same argument for garlic from China and Argentina? Assuming that in your branches in neighboring France we can find garlic from France, I still think that between Switzerland and France, or even Italy at worst, that must be enough.
And for a company that sets itself up as a champion of sustainable development etc. ... it's no mean feat!
Hi lucrece.borgia,
Our products are imported from overseas countries when the European market is not able to make enough goods available. In addition to Chinese garlic, we also offer organic garlic, mainly from Italy. Conventionally produced garlic is supplied to us from Argentina between January and June, and from Spain between June and December.
Migros' policy is to source its products from as close to the region as possible, and to offer them at the best price/performance ratio.
Best regards

Your main competitor's organic sultana grapes come from Turkey (which is still better than the USA). If he can get them there, I imagine you can too.

One problem with these grapes is the vegetable fat used. For allergy sufferers, you need to know which fat is used. If not, you can't eat the product. THANK YOU.
