Could Migros also include large, i.e. coarse organic oat flakes in its range?

Hello zinnie, thank you for your inquiry. Suggestions and ideas for our range are always welcome! Although there are currently no plans to make any changes that match your request, this decision is not set in stone. That's why the division managers are ready to review your idea as part of the next revision of the range. If necessary, they will make changes. We hope our efforts are in your interest. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello,

I tried to find this product yesterday on the shelves of migros métropole MMM in Lausanne, but unfortunately I only found the fine flake variety. Is this product still made?

Thank you

It's incomprehensible why you can't use oat flakes from Switzerland!!! Are there no more oats in Switzerland????

Hello guest
Unfortunately, the oats available in Switzerland do not meet the quality requirements in terms of texture, color, grain size, grain strength and hectoliter weight for the manufacturer. The Swiss hectoliter weight is also very light, which has a negative impact on the production quantity and ultimately results in a more expensive product. We would also like to point out that the additional price is only borne by a small number of customers in Switzerland.
Another reason is that the quantities required are far from being covered by Swiss oat cultivation (conventional and organic). Availability is therefore not guaranteed; for example, just under 400 tons of organic oats were harvested in 2009, of which around 275 tons were used as feed due to insufficient quality.
Organic Bud oats grown in Switzerland remain an exception. These oats are distributed by Biofarm through selected sales channels.
Oat cultivation is also a question of climate (dry and warm regions are unfavorable), soil types, altitude of the cultivated areas and crop rotation. Swiss producers are therefore not interested in growing oats because of the yield. Growing wheat, barley or even maize in our latitudes remains more lucrative for Swiss farmers. In the organic sector, German oats are used wherever possible. However, this can vary depending on availability. This is why, for example, Argentinian, Canadian and South African organic oats are also used.

Coop also stocks coarse rolled oats.
These are from Switzerland, packed in 750g bags (i.e. less efficient in terms of filling time) and cost less than those from Migros.
Migros : CHF 0.17/100g
Coop : CHF 0.15/100g
Migros is not always cheaper....
I used to trust them, but now I check for myself and only buy
and now only buy my oat flakes from the competition
With my consumption of almost 200kg / year, it's worth it!

This guest was talking a lot of garbage here! The oat flakes from the Coop only say that they were produced in Switzerland. But the ROHSTOFFHERKUNFT says Switzerland, Europe, North America, etc. ...and the cost of the coarse wholemeal oat flakes is 0.29/100g, i.e. more expensive and not cheaper than at Migros.
