Dear Migros. Many consumers are likely aware by now that cocoa itself is not only delicious but also very healthy and contains highly beneficial nutrients (e.g., flavanols).
This chocolate would be ideal for that purpose, as its high cocoa content leaves little “room” for the rather unhealthy sugar. This also makes the chocolate less problematic for diabetics.
Unfortunately, you pay a massively inflated price per 100g for the Lindt brand name, which you really don’t need for everyday use (especially since the chocolate isn’t organic or particularly fair-trade either). Global cocoa prices have dropped massively again. Either way, the brand will always cost too much as an everyday product.
So: How about an M-Budget (or simply "Migros") chocolate with at least 85% cocoa (preferably 90%), leaving only 10–15% sugar? Something like that could certainly be offered for about 2–2.20 CHF per 100g. Please, under no circumstances use artificial sweeteners. Both discounters, Aldi and Lidl, (usually) have such a product in their assortment. It would be great if I could find it at your store too, without having to spend a fortune (like here).
(I know you already have a 71% version, but that one has 27g of sugar and is therefore not okay from a health perspective—it’s just a candy.)
Great idea :)
Hello SweetchiliGrizzlybär, thank you very much for your message and your interest in our chocolates. For brand-name products like Lindt, we base our prices on standard market rates in Switzerland and review them regularly to ensure a fair price-to-value ratio. We have forwarded your feedback directly to our specialist department.
The Frey Suprême Noir Extra 85% Cacao contains 13 g of sugar per 100 g and stands out with a high cocoa content of 85%. The Frey Suprême Noir Intense, with 91% cocoa and 8.2 g of sugar, also falls into this category.
In our M-Budget range, you’ll currently find chocolates with a maximum of 71% cocoa content, such as the M-Budget Dark Chocolate 71% Cocoa (27 g sugar).
We’re happy to take your request for an affordable chocolate with at least 85% cocoa and low sugar into consideration and will look into whether we can add such a product to our range. Thank you for your suggestion! Best regards, your M-Infoline Team
