Hello dear Migipedia team, why does the cap remain on the bottle since the new regulation? Even though we in Switzerland don't actually have to comply with this unspeakable EU regulation? The new lid certainly requires more plastic (amount of material) than the old one and is therefore probably even worse for the environment than before. What is also a fact: with my larger nose, I can no longer drink from it as well and if I tear off the lid, there is a risk of injury! Is there a reason why the EU is being emulated here or do people just think it's great? In my opinion, such measures must always start from the goal and not from the solution. Goal: less plastic waste, solution: ? Fixing the lid to the bottle probably not... Thank you in advance for your comments on this topic.

Because the supplier of the lid/bottle is from abroad and only produces EU bottles.

Hello Colingolder, thank you for your post. The new EU regulation stipulates that the caps must remain attached to the bottles even when they are open. This will apply from July 1, 2024 at the latest. The ongoing changeover has already begun and affects all disposable liquid containers with a capacity of up to three liters. Switzerland has not yet made an official statement on this. However, we have been informed by our suppliers and partners that non-compliant closures will no longer be produced in Europe from the end of 2023. We will therefore also see the ongoing change to the closures in Switzerland, and we regret that this is impractical and makes the bottles more difficult to open. We will of course keep an eye on this issue and make adjustments if necessary. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

What is the current status? Are there plans to use "normal" lids again? It's really awful to close these lids and there are other bottles without these impractical lids. Nobody leaves lids lying around, so this new idea can't be good for the environment

Hello Engel22, thank you for your inquiry. There are no plans to return to the lids you prefer. Even ifthe Swiss authorities have not yet officially issued a corresponding regulation, they no longer manufacture the caps you appreciate. We hope these lines are informative for you. Best regards,
your M-Infoline team

Vegan?
Hello Ambreee, Kult Ice Tea Lemon does not contain any ingredients or additives of animal origin and can therefore be described as vegan. However, it has not been certified as vegan and therefore does not carry a corresponding V-label on the packaging. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Has anything been changed in the recipe for the iced tea? I have the feeling it tastes different.
Only the sugar has been reduced a little, which I have read several times.
Ah really? I didn't realize that. But something else is strange. Has the sugar possibly been replaced by another sweetener? That would explain the strange aftertaste in the mouth.

Hello Magnoliapower, thank you for your question. We will be happy to check your report. Please let us know the best-before date and the adjacent production number including the time. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Sweeteners must be listed in the list of ingredients -> therefore no. In 2022 the sugar content was reduced by 1g as far as I have heard. But it has been like this for several months.

Is there caffeine in the Migros ice tea varieties, it seems to me that not all drinks say whether they have caffeine or not? Kind regards

Good evening TheBookOfBobaSchlank The basis for iced tea is brewed black tea and this contains caffeine. The caffeine content of a freshly brewed iced tea is between 45 and 75 mg/100ml. Best regardsFrederica

Hello TheBookOfBobaSchlank, thank you for your question. Only the Kult Ice Tea varieties Rosehip-Hibiscus and Alpine Herbs are caffeine-free. All other varieties contain significant amounts of caffeine. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello, I have a few questions about the product, 1. are the products contained in the ice tea also from Switzerland? 2. where is the ice tea produced 3. is the ice tea recycled 4. how can the ice tea be recycled if possible? 5. how is the ice tea put back into circulation That would be the questions. I look forward to an answer, best regards Mr. Brändle

Hello Flixubrendu, the black tea comes from India, the rose hips/karkade flowers from South America and Africa and the lemon juice also from South America. Only the sugar comes from Switzerland. The iced tea is produced here in Bischofszell. We assume that you are referring to the PET bottle in terms of recycling. PET bottles can be taken to any PET disposal point. More information: https://www.petrecycling.ch/de/home. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

The Migros restaurant in Wetzikon 8620 sells the ice tea in the store for 0.90 Fr. in the restaurant for 3.60 Fr. but it is 1 to 1 the same product. How can I understand this? I would have understood it if the price was twice as expensive, but 4 x as expensive.... One more request, can you put the chicken breast back in the range in the restaurant. Unfortunately, for some incomprehensible reason, this was taken out of the range. :(

Hello kayy, we would be happy to explain why there is a price difference for drinks in Migros restaurants. The prices of PET drinks are restaurant prices and not supermarket prices. There are various factors that we have to take into account. These include, for example, personnel costs, different purchasing conditions, higher costs for small-volume logistics, the consumption equipment (dining room) and its rent, cleaning and, last but not least, an increased VAT rate. We have now added the chicken burger to our range, which is why the chicken breast will be offered alternately. We hope for your understanding and look forward to your next visit. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

I've been waiting a long time for the light version in the PET bottle! :-)

Dear amalia2505 Thank you for your interest. Due to the low demand, we are currently not planning to offer Ice Tea light in PET bottles. However, we can offer you Ice Tea zero in a bottle as an alternative. Give it a try - maybe you'll like it just as much. Kind regards from the M-Infoline team

I can only agree with the 2nd previous speaker: I have always bought the (only true) ice tea in half-liter cartons. It's so good that I drink it all at once anyway, so I don't need it to be resealable.
If you have no other excuse for discontinuing a product, you simply blame the lack of demand. But there's something fishy about that: the carton version cost 60 centimes (if I remember correctly), the pet bottle 90 centimes. A whopping 50% mark-up for absolutely the same content - that would actually be a case for the cash register!

Hello Huendli
Thank you very much for your comment.
The 50cl Brik pack was discontinued at the end of last year. This was because customers were buying the 50cl ice tea almost exclusively in the PET bottle and no longer in the Brik pack. The 50cl Brik pack was also somewhat impractical for immediate consumption, as it was not resealable and had no drinking opening. The PET bottle is ideal for immediate consumption in this respect, as confirmed by customer feedback to date. If you would still prefer a smaller Brik pack, we still offer the 33cl Brik packs with tubes.
We would also like to point out the ecological aspect. PET bottles can be recycled and Brik packs are usually disposed of with household waste.
PET packaging is always more expensive than Brik (cardboard). The two packaging systems also differ in terms of design. Brik is a printed carton and PET bottles are provided with a printed sleeve. In addition, conventional transparent PET cannot be used for Kult Ice Tea in PET bottles. As the contents are brewed tea, i.e. not made from concentrate, the product requires light-protected packaging. Brown PET must therefore be used so that the product is optimally protected.
We hope you understand our reasoning and wish you a happy Easter!
Best wishes from the M-Infoline team
