A few days ago I bought 5 PIETRO "blackout" curtains from Micasa. I washed them as advised on the packet, but despite several machine washes and drying in the sun, the chemical smell that emanated from them persisted. If you're choosing curtains, keep this in mind. An organic curtain won't have these problems.
