I've just been shopping and noticed that there are new price labels for weighing fruit and vegetables. These are thicker than their predecessors, which makes them less easy to fit on the fruit and vegetables. In addition, they adhere less well. As a result, the cashier had to weigh the pears again because the label had fallen off. Please change these labels again. They don't do much good as they are.
Hello Rinew, The change is due to a new generation of scales. To make these devices future-proof, we opted for a so-called "linerless" paper. There is silicone on its surface. Silicone is essential here as a release agent so that the adhesive does not adhere to the label itself, but only to the packaging. With conventional labels, the silicone is on the backing material, which is thrown away after application. With "Linerless", the material is siliconized so that the roll remains unrollable. We have carried out numerous tests on the adhesive. We have increased the adhesive strength by 3 grams compared to the "old" labels. This results in a higher adhesive strength. If you stick the label on the Veggie Bag on the tab provided, it should hold well. We received this feedback from the test results. Thank you for your answer. Well, my experience contradicts the test results. I had the pears in a veggie bag I just mentioned, on the very tab you mentioned. I clearly notice how they stick less well, even though that is the actual benefit of the labels. It's a shame if it can't do what it was designed for; to stick to bags and products so that they can be scanned at the checkout.

We have exhausted all options with them. We are currently checking with the paper manufacturer to see if there are any alternatives. Then four months later: At the branch I mentioned (Aare), the labels are now holding up perfectly.
