Unfortunately, since the renovation of the Migros branch in Schmiede Wiedikon, the coffee grinder by the register—where you used to be able to grind your whole beans for free—is gone. I can understand why they remodeled the store (even though I personally didn’t have any issues with the old layout), but I just don’t get why they removed the coffee grinder!! I’ve been a regular customer at this store for years, and I really thought those coffee grinders were one of the best features! Isn’t it great that not everyone has to own an expensive coffee grinder at home?

When I asked the staff about it, they told me to go to the nearby Coop. That can’t be right, can it?! It may be that most of the customers at Schmiede Wiedikon prefer a Migros in the Coop Pronto style. But after all, there are also people who live in the neighborhood and don’t just want to buy convenience food and sugary drinks. Please, please, please bring this coffee grinder back! It’s already in stock anyway—it doesn’t even require a new investment....
