Products that are about to expire are offered at a reduced price, which I think is great. However, I have noticed that the competition generally offers a 25% or sometimes even 50% discount. Migros gives comparatively little discount. Could you also go to 25% or 50%?

Please note that each branch decides for itself whether and when to grant discounts. The Aare Cooperative proceeds as follows. Products that are about to exceed their best-before dates are discounted by 33%. This already in the morning. This has the advantage that all customers benefit from price reductions early on without having to wait until late in the evening. In addition, this approach is worthwhile because experience has shown that people are more likely to buy the advertised goods during the day. Food is often left over in the evening. This method is therefore ideal for taking targeted action against food waste. We also reduce the workload on site: our employees only have to apply the price reduction once. Otherwise, they would have to be replaced every few hours. For the reasons mentioned above, there are currently no plans to change this. Of course, we are always open to suggestions and ideas and will keep your suggestion in mind. Kind regards, Tabea

Where I shop (also in the Migros Aare region) the discount for such products is always 33% (at Coop it is always 50%).
