I wanted to take advantage of the current "Organic milk 6 x 1 liter" promotion. The promotion is not on offer in my store, only individual items, which are sold at the normal price. However, I noticed that there are smaller branches where the promotion is available.
1. how are the stores selected, does the store manager decide what comes into the store as a promotion?
2. why can't I buy 6x1 liter single items at the promotional price if the multipack is not available (usually possible at Coop)?
3. those who are not motorized are penalized, because those who shop on foot or by bike rarely like to do weight training at the same time. Why is it not possible to buy a single item at a special price during a promotion?
4. the 6-pack at the promotional price is also shrink-wrapped in plastic. So if you buy the promotion and probably take the car with you because of the weight, you are unintentionally causing additional plastic waste.
5. in the Migros magazine I read again and again: So and so much plastic saved on packaging, in the store I keep seeing promotions that are additionally shrink-wrapped in plastic, why is a mystery.
Are there any understandable and comprehensible answers?

Oh yes, the Gümligen store and the non-existent promotions and its completely incomprehensible range (as already mentioned, there are quite a few items in smaller stores, but then you don't get other important things there and the rummaging around is usually too stupid for me, especially if you still have x-Cumulus points vouchers that you can only use on one purchase)... That's why I've recently made a habit of going to the MM store in Ostermundigen. Although the promotional items would theoretically be in the range there, they are usually sold out by the end of the week. Last Saturday: Organic green asparagus: not found. Beer shelf: yawning emptiness. New farm chips: yawning emptiness. This has led to a whole rat's tail, because if I don't get one item, I don't need others that go with it (e.g. ham with the asparagus). I returned home with a measly purchase of less than 20 francs, and the competition was delighted on Monday. It's really frightening how Migros is doing away with itself and doing everything it can to drive away its long-standing customers.

Hello gelleria, this item is normally only available in larger stores. During the promotion, this item can also be ordered for smaller stores (optional). It is therefore quite possible that the Gümligen store did not take advantage of this offer.
Migros offers various forms of promotion to meet as many needs as possible. Small or individual households appreciate promotions on individual products, while large households appreciate buying a special or multiple pack. So that we can offer our customers variety and, above all, give them a choice, there are promotions that apply from a certain quantity.
Wherever possible, we try to avoid overpacking or double packaging, as additional packaging also means additional costs for us.
As promotions are only available in stores for a short time, they must be clearly marked. For logistical reasons, outer packaging is usually necessary. However, Migros also offers promotions for many products without additional packaging material, for example for yogurt, which is available in packs of 4 or 6 without additional outer packaging.
Banderoles or other alternatives must have a high tear resistance and therefore do not necessarily require less material than very thin plastic film. This is why they are not used more frequently. Of course, we are constantly looking at alternatives. For example, we use double-sided adhesive strips in the aperitif area, which ensure that the packs hold together and at the same time we only need to use a small amount of material.
