Why are there usually promotions starting at 2 pieces?
Strawberries are on sale in the morning, from 2 pieces.
What should I do with 1 kg of strawberries in a household of 2 people? Sure, eat them, freeze them, etc.. Not the point.
That's how you promote food waste.

The answer confirms that the excuse for criticizing out-of-season offers that you only offer what customers want is far-fetched: "Our aim is to offer our customers variety and give them a choice." If the demand for strawberries were high enough in winter, which is almost still winter, there would be no need to artificially push them with promotions.
My personal choice: Tasteless pesticide bombs produced under thousands of square kilometers of plastic tarpaulins in regions with chronic water shortages and transported by truck convoys over 1000 km: No thanks!

I'm the kind of person who likes to buy Spanish strawberries in the winter months. They are often very sweet and delicious.
Nevertheless, in spring and summer I go out into the fields every now and then to pick the strawberries (and other fruit) myself. Depending on the variety, our local strawberries are very watery and sometimes have hardly any flavor. But sometimes you can also get some brilliantly fine berries.
I know and appreciate both options. However, forcing people to buy two packs is unnecessary and can hardly meet a great need...
I suspect that the 2 on the strawberries is mainly to be able to buy a higher quantity from the supplier in order to get the price of 2.60.
The normal price from Migros is 3.80. At Coop 4.45
to make the 33% possible, a larger quantity must be purchased from the supplier.
I think it's now almost become the case with many retailers that you either have to buy 2 or more or you need a card/app for the promotion. Only Aldi is not yet playing along with the app.

Since I have a small garden myself I know how much work is behind healthy vegetables and fruits, I wonder who pays for the fact that we get such cheap strawberries in winter.
