https://www.nau.ch/news/schweiz/migros-kunde-nervt-sich-uber-immer-mehr-verfaulte-fruchte-66720682 This has often been criticized here in the forum. And it's certainly not an isolated case, that's just a defensive claim; I also see again and again/regularly in several stores in Zurich that there are heaps of rotten and even moldy fruit on the shelves. If you point this out to the staff in a friendly manner, nobody really seems to care, the moldy/rotten goods are simply left lying around, and sometimes even visibly moldy products (e.g. strawberries, raspberries) are offered at 50%...
I don't say anything anymore and I don't get angry about it; I've drawn the consequences and haven't bought any fruit or vegetables from Migros for a long time (not even special offers), the quality is many times better at the German discounters and the Swiss competitor, and cheaper at the discounters than at Migros, even organic!
