Hi, I have a question regarding an Anna's Best Chicken Satay frozen meal. The "to be used by" date expires on 12.3 but I would like to eat it on Monday (one day later). However, I'm a bit doubtful that the food won't be bad by then as 1. it has meat in it and 2. it says 'to be consumed by'. Do any of you know if it can still be eaten a day later or if it is no longer good? Thanks in advance. LG Ps: always kept in the fridge
I have eaten chilled ready meals a few days later (in the BinaShop there are often leftovers for 1.- that have to go on the day, so I buy 3 and have something for three days) the plastic foil that sticks to it must simply not be blown. Heat well and leave to cool to eating temperature.

As March 12 is approaching, it was important for me to clarify further with the relevant specialist agency immediately. Those responsible informed me that the use-by date serves to protect health. After the expiry date, changes can take place that may pose a risk. It is not possible to predict whether this will be the case with chicken satay. We therefore generally advise against eating food once the best-before date has passed. What you can do, however, is to put the meal in the freezer now. Then put it in the fridge the evening before March 13, leave it to defrost overnight, heat it up and enjoy. Incidentally, this also works if your plans change, as the dish can easily wait in the freezer for several weeks. En Guete, Tabea!

So if you can't eat it just one day later, I'm worried whether it's even good until the specified date, it doesn't get soggy within a few hours. Well.
On the expiration date it goes BANG! in the box at midnight and then the stuff goes bad.

Lord, don't throw any more brains out of the sky (let alone a sense of smell and taste and eyes to see), because they don't know what to do with them. I must have died a dozen times in my half century if I haven't at least ended up in hospital with food poisoning. And then we are surprised when the latest statistics on food waste are published again... I have the most undesirable reactions in my digestive tract when I have consumed supposedly flawless and fresh products and rack my brains as to what the cause could be without being able to make sense of it. The things that can go wrong during production, packaging, transportation (cold chain!), storage and even your own kitchen hygiene are many times greater than the risk of eating a product one day after its expiration date. Help, life is dangerous! But at least the tip about freezing (if you know early enough) is helpful.
