Good morning, I see that there are some vegan products, with lots of symbol but looking in the ingredients turned out an ingredient named "mono and dyglycerides of fatty acids" or with e471, e472. But this comes mostly from the glycerin of fatty acids from animals such as beef or pork, but it can also be vegetable. Unfortunately, the derivative is never specified, and it would be nice if it would be better described in the future.

Hi FleaMichelle, the V label "vegan" guarantees the absence of ingredients, additives or adjuvants of animal origin. Supporting substances, flavorings and enzymes of animal origin are also excluded. Emulsifiers E 471 and E 472 are therefore always of vegetable origin in products labeled with the "vegan" label V. In general, emulsifiers such as E 471 and E472 are based on fatty components (fatty acids or glycerin). The fat used in their production is normally of vegetable origin (palm kernel oil, canola oil, sunflower seed oil, soybean oil, etc.). Theoretically, the fat can also be of animal origin (pork and/or beef fat); however, this is no longer frequently the case.
