Testing desserts with customers

Mit Kundinnen und Kunden Desserts testen

Testing products together that may never be available in this form at Migros - that's exactly what we did together with 26 customers on Thursday evening, November 24, 2022. Two dessert cups (panna cotta with berries and rhubarb cream) and three biscuit creations (millet, cashew and oat chocolate) were waiting to be tested and evaluated for the first time. Using an electronic questionnaire, everyone was then able to provide feedback on the taste and appearance, among other things. Product developers from Jowa, the Migros bakery, led the tasting and were on hand to answer questions.100% natural? The five desserts all had one thing in common: they were made from 100% natural ingredients. Another feature of the creations: The product developers* at Jowa tried to keep the list of ingredients as short as possible. The cashew taler, my personal favorite by the way, consisted only of white flour, cooking butter, sugar, cashew nuts, free-range eggs and table salt. Naturally, we were interested in whether the concept of 100% natural with as few ingredients as possible was well received by our customers. The answer was clear: yes. What happens next? The Migros sensory team is now evaluating the questionnaires. They will then sit down with the product developers and product managers to discuss the results and the next steps. Were the 5 desserts convincing? Did a product fail completely at the first tasting with customers? Where needs to be improved? These and many other questions will soon be answered. Thanks to all participants for an exciting evening. You will (hopefully) be the first to find out here if and when the products make it to the Migros shelves. Best regards, Philipp
