So another example of a Migros own brand being thrown out and replaced by a so-called branded product that is probably twice as expensive. I have just looked through my old receipts again. Canary food M Classic 1 kg cost 3.50. Vitakraft food is sold everywhere for 5.90, probably soon at Migros too. This Migros policy is putting me off as a customer. I have long since started to shop less frequently at Migros and more often at the competition.
Oh God Vitakraft is probably the worst food for all animal species with the biggest promotion and representation in all stores, everywhere, it's crazy how they manage to buy in... but ok with all the sugar in the food the animals like to eat it and not everyone informs themselves about species-appropriate food and buys it. The calculation works out because the masses are brand loyal and trust without questioning. goodbye private label. hello product that is already available in every store. welcome standardized mash. if you have a Landi near you they have canary food without sugar/honey one even from Switzerland in a 5kg bag (first and second picture), another EU.
That's 2.90 per kilo of feed. Unbeatable! Another vote for Landi. And not just because of the bird food.

Thanks for the tip about Landi. I know this food, but unfortunately my birds didn't like it very much. It has a lot of millet in it, which they don't eat at all. I now buy Schweizer canary food from specialist retailers, I don't buy Vitakraft.
I simply think the slogan "Migros makes more for the Swiss" is misguided if you take out the own brand for a niche product of a single variety and that group of buyers now has to switch who may not be versed in online shopping for pet food to buy something there, and has no "pet store" nearby and so is still dependent on Migros. To have a really non-Swiss brand on the shelf now at almost twice the price of the Swiss product is worth it - one more M for Migros.
