In the fruit department of Migros Küssnacht am Rigi, I discovered the following Medjool brand dates by chance.
The price tag said country of origin Israel and the packaging said country of origin Namibia!!!!
Apart from the incorrect labeling, it seems questionable why dates have to be imported from these countries?
Maybe report to the branch and the problem would be solved?
Fortunately no longer from Israel...
Hello Sciora, we in no way support calls for boycotts against countries, states, nations, population groups and the like. Migros bases its actions solely on the legal framework: First and foremost, Swiss legislation, including international humanitarian law. Where relevant, international obligations that Migros has entered into must also be taken into account. With regard to the identification and qualification of territories occupied under international law, Migros adheres to the assessment and position of the Swiss Confederation. Migros has not offered any products originating from occupied territories since 2017. For example, depending on the season, our dates come from Israel, specifically from the heartland of Israel (the territory of Israel within its 1967 borders, i.e. the area before the Six-Day War). In individual cases, it consults independent experts in the field of international humanitarian law.
We will be happy to check the signage.
