I recently bought some spice and herb jars. In almost all of them, the lid no longer closes properly after the first opening - this is quite annoying, as they will quickly clump together or lose flavor. Is there a production fault?
No, this is not a production error. Today's packaging engineers simply can no longer produce anything that works. It's also an advantage if the contents spoil quickly and have to be replaced prematurely. For this reason, and because the jars are now too big for the spice shelf (because Migros says this is "standard market practice"), spices are only bought elsewhere, where - oh wonder! - the jars are still as small as they used to be at Migros and even the quality is right. This was already a big issue here during the changeover.
Migros is on a self-abolition trip: it's on.
Hello Astrid-C, we have received some feedback that the dosing with the new lid (4-hole dosing cap) is not ideal and too little content "comes out". In response, the supplier adapted the dosing caps. The holes are now larger. We also changed the dosing cap from four to five holes. We also optimized the closures so that they close more easily. This change has already been made. However, in order to protect the environment, we are first selling our existing stocks before gradually introducing the new version. Best regards, Susi

I have a spice drawer in which I keep the jars that can no longer be closed after a short time. Now I'm looking forward to the new closures so that I can buy the spices in Migros again!
