The best ladyfingers

Die besten Löffelbiscuits weg

It is with great regret that I discovered Migros has discontinued its ladyfingers. For many, this may seem like a minor change. For our family, it means so much more.

My mother’s tiramisu recipe has been based on these very ladyfingers for decades. As a child, I watched her make it; later, I took over the recipe; and today, I prepare the same tiramisu with my daughter. Three generations associate memories, family celebrations, and special moments with a product from Migros.

Of course, there are other ladyfingers. But anyone who has been using a tried-and-true recipe for years or even decades knows: not every product is the same. Texture, absorbency, and taste make all the difference. Our family recipe works perfectly with Migros ladyfingers. They weren’t just an ingredient—they were part of a tradition.

Migros often talks about being close to people and about products that have been with families for generations. That makes it all the more baffling when such a product suddenly disappears. Behind every item on the shelf are customers, habits, and memories. Some products are more than just merchandise—they’re part of everyday life and family history.

I sincerely hope that Migros will reconsider this decision. Because sometimes it is precisely the unassuming products that hold the greatest value for customers.
