Just as already mentioned: the size and recipe? I have the feeling that the biscuit has become smaller and it smells slightly different. In addition, the packaging is new and the protective cardboard around the biscuit is also missing.

I just find that the sponge base is drier than before. I also found it harder to separate the three layers than before. And: the cardboard border is now missing and that doesn't do the biscuit any favors either.
All in all, a deterioration, which I think is a shame.

What, the edge of the box is missing? So the cake base is just loose in the plastic packaging? That way it will be completely squashed... That's a really bad deterioration!

That's right. The biscuit is just lying there in the packaging. There is only a thin cardboard plate under the biscuit. But this is so thin that it is not stable enough to handle the cake. I always use a round metal plate that is slightly smaller than the sponge.

No, not yet. My last version from January 2025 is still the packaging with a cardboard edge. I make about 2-3 black forest cakes a year. The next one is not planned until Christmas 2025. So I can't check it before then, but if that's really the case, then Migros should really be persuaded to think back / rethink.
This stupid but unfortunately important cardboard edge will definitely not be as costly as the wrong decisions and bonuses of the carpet floor...
