Expired goods and a barbecue selection that’s enough to make you cry

Abgelaufene Ware und ein Grillsortiment zum weinen

It’s well known that Migros sells products that are past their expiration date or will expire the next day without properly labeling them. Today I was shopping in Gränichen again and needed eggs. The organic eggs at the front of the shelf expire on Sunday, but I didn’t want those because they’ve been sitting on the shelf unrefrigerated for almost a month. So I took the eggs from the very back; these had expired on 04/02/26, meaning they’d been there for 15 days, and it wasn’t just one carton, but several. I pointed this out to a sales clerk and showed her a carton. She thanked me, but a quarter of an hour later they were still on the shelf—simply unbelievable.
Then I wanted to buy meat for grilling; there were sausages, but I looked in vain for things like spare ribs or chops, lamb, or anything else.
My trust in the quality and in Migros itself has been shattered—it’s been that way for a while—but I wanted to give them one more chance, and from now on I’ll only buy the bare essentials, like bread, which isn’t bad. I’m so disappointed.
