Hello there
I wanted to ask why there are no calorie-free ice creams. I mean, it works with drinks too, doesn't it? It's clear why cream ice cream doesn't exist in a zero-calorie version. But a cola-water ice cream or something similar...?
Would such products be possible and would there be interested parties?

Basically interested, yes.
Although I do appreciate a nice cream ice cream (I really like the ones from Légér) in between ice creams.

I assume that the demand for water ice cream is much lower than for cream ice cream, which is why a light version has not yet been produced. I also think that water ice cream has fewer calories than cream ice cream anyway.

In terms of blood sugar, water glacé is more "problematic" than cream glacé, but we don't want to get too medical here ;)

Zero water ice would be really great. I hardly ever eat ice cream because I want to avoid the excess calories. But a zero-calorie water ice would be my (summer) dream!

Hello everyone
We have received the following feedback from those responsible for ice cream:
There are sweeteners (high intensity sweeteners) and sugar substitutes. Only sweeteners are used in drinks. Bulk must be incorporated into frozen ice cream. These substances give the ice cream its "body" and lower its freezing point. A piece of ice cream at -18°C (storage temperature in the freezer) would stick to the lips and tongue, would be as hard as glass, brittle and would break immediately. Colorants and flavors alone do not have enough freezing point reduction. Sugar substitutes, which do this job, do have calories (albeit fewer than sugar). Furthermore, most water ice is a children's product. Sweeteners are not desirable in children's products.

What I don't understand is that sweeteners are not desirable in children's products; sugar is probably even unhealthier than most!
