I noticed that the vegetables and fruit on display were very cold - the sales rooms were of course quite warm. The shelf life of the vegetables and fruit I bought was quite short, even when stored at a cool temperature of around 15 degrees.

Last Wednesday I bought such crunchy carrots - on the day of purchase they were really hard.... 3 days later on Saturday, the beginning and end could be bent into a wheel and were already slightly brown on the sides. I can't imagine that the storage in the cellar is not right.

Why are these carrots so extremely cold when they are sold? do you have to make sure when you buy them that the cold chain is not interrupted even with such stored products - which are not offered in refrigerated appliances? can everything only be kept for 3 days by putting it in the fridge? - This is a somewhat unusual situation for me in a cellar.
