A promise is a promise? Keeping the promise regarding free-range eggs

Versprochen ist versprochen? Einhaltung des Versprechens bezüglich Freiland-Eier

Dear Migros, A few years ago it was announced in the media that Migros would only offer free-range eggs in its stores. This was well received by me at the time, even though I was aware that this promise only concerned fresh eggs and not the many processed products in which barn eggs continue to be used. Recently, however, I noticed that imported barn eggs (as a large pack in promotion) were being offered on your shelves. This surprised me and makes me question the credibility of your promise. Two points bother me in this regard: If there are seasonal shortages of free-range eggs, I expect Migros to communicate transparently about this matter. It would be important for customers to be informed if there are temporarily not enough free-range eggs available and the promise cannot be kept temporarily. Even if barn eggs have to be offered temporarily, I see no reason to advertise and sell these products in promotions and large packs. It seems contradictory to promote sales of products that are known not to meet the standards you are trying to achieve. I would like to understand how Migros generally ensures that its promises are kept and how you deal with such situations when free-range eggs are temporarily unavailable.
