I've had a Mio Star toaster for years. Now that I want to get it in shape, I realize that the Migros subsidiary has taken extra care to use screws that cannot be loosened without special tools. I no longer want to support this behavior. The next appliance will certainly be from a different company.

I have a Trisa toaster. This also has special screws, which are not even all the same. I'm pretty sure that there are safety recommendations from specialist bodies, if not regulations or standards.

Then you can no longer repair anything yourself. It's paternalism that also suggests that only so-called specialists can repair something.

I find that argument very flimsy. There are many customers who have technical training. You could use devices for longer. It's not worth running to you with it so that the product is then sent halfway around the world and, in case of doubt, still comes back broken. I've seen it all before.

I hardly believe that the majority of people know anything about toasters and the like. Just because you have a few screws and a little knowledge of technology doesn't make you a toaster pro
