Since the beginning of this year, the label of M-Budget's O-juice has been changed. But probably not only that. Since then, the OJ no longer tastes the same, or rather, I can no longer enjoy it. Did I just get two bad bottles or has the recipe been changed? I really liked it, but I can no longer enjoy it like this. Has anyone else noticed this?

We have been buying the orange juice regularly and almost weekly for a good 1.5 years. We haven't noticed anything wrong with the taste since the changeover to the new label. I am aware that a change of design often involves an adjustment to the recipe, but here we (fortunately) don't notice anything because apart from Andros with Valencia oranges, M-Budget's orange juice is by far the most drinkable.

As you rightly point out, the product is now certified with the Rain-Forest label. Apart from that, there have been no changes. It is still a mixed juice made from different orange varieties. Depending on the harvest, however, the color, pulp content and sweetness may vary slightly. Unfortunately, without more detailed information, such as the best-before date and the batch number (a combination of numbers and letters), we are unable to determine whether the discrepancies you have described are due to natural fluctuations. Since migros also produces this for lidl and aldi, this is decently the best of all. hopefully migros won't raise the price to 2.60 like coop did

Unfortunately, the recipe has also been changed since the new appearance and is clearly no longer good for me. For example, the juice used to have 204 kj per 100ml and on the new label it has 177 kj per 100ml. 177 kj so it can't be the same. What a shame, I now have to look for another juice.

As you have correctly seen, this juice has been given a new design - because of the Rain Forest Alliance certification. However, there have been no changes to the recipe. It is still a fresh mixed juice - without the addition of concentrates - made from different types of oranges. Oranges are a natural product, which is why there can be variations in terms of color, sweetness or pulp content. We are aware of this, which is why we rely on numerous controls that take place at different points along the entire value chain. Best regards, Yann

I know from my own experience that orange juice has not changed. We consume it often (according to my post above), but I would still like to know how the changes in the nutritional value table come about, as you can see in the two pictures. That's interesting :)

Hi missy_89, when a new raw material is used, such as in this case newly certified Rainforest Orange Juice, the nutritional values are remeasured by our own industry using a sample. A sample is only a snapshot. The nutritional values of the orange can vary depending on the harvest. This is particularly the case with the sugar content. A higher sugar content indicates a better degree of ripeness of the fruit and is very dependent on the weather. In this example, you can also see that only the sugar content differs in the nutritional values. Kind regards, Susi
