Hello, why is there no Migros in the upper Engadine, only Coop?

Yes, that made me laugh :-) - It's not easy to explain, but it has a lot to do with "Grisons resistance" - although the official line is always: no suitable land available. Graubünden belongs to Migros Ostschweiz, which is based in St. Gallen, so from Graubünden's point of view, it's completely foreign-determined. At Coop, the regional designation is Graubünden-Sarganserland, based in Chur. Valais also has its own regional cooperative and is not under the wing of Bern - the people of Graubünden expect the same from the people of St. Gallen! Mountain people tick differently !
So far there is indeed no Migros in the Engadin, but a Migrolino is expected to open in Samedan in June. We can't yet tell you whether there will then be any more branches in the Engadin.
