The new packaging is not as appealing. If you compare the nutritional values, the new packaging has 3g more sugar per 100g in the mix. I think that's a shame. It is always being discussed that sugar consumption in food must be reduced as there are more and more widespread diseases such as diabetes and obesity. And here the sugar content is simply increased in a hidden way.

:-)) It's also about the manufacturers stretching the content with sugar and so they need fewer ingredients of herbs for the spice.

Hello wetter1, thank you for your question. The carbohydrate content of 29g/100g comes mainly from corn and potato starch. The sugar content of 3g/100g is very low and not higher than the previous product. Some sugar (in this product: "glucose") is added to certain spice mixtures to round off the taste. In the list of ingredients, all ingredients are declared in descending order of quantity. As spices are consumed in very small quantities, the sugar intake per use is very low and negligible from a nutritional point of view. I'm worried about a yoghurt with 25g of sugar per pot, as you can assume around 18g of added sugar. But if a spice contains a few grams of sugar... that's where the hysteria starts, so I use a maximum of one spice per day! 8 grams, that would be 0.24g of sugar. This doesn't matter if you are overweight or have diabetes. What matters is whether you sprinkle the spice on vegetables or on white pasta with beef and cheese ;-P. Sometimes you just need a little sugar for a better taste, as I said, we are talking about less than one gram per huge portion. Incidentally, Italians often sprinkle a mini pinch of sugar on their children's vegetables so that they learn to like them ;-). Lg
