Could it be that Migros is taking the piss out of its customers? The lemon ice tea in the blue bottle always costs around 90 centimes. Yesterday in Basel in the Migros Daily I paid 2.90 for a bottle! I would like a plausible explanation for this, thank you!

I don't think we're being taken for a ride, the prices for drinks in Migros restaurants and daily stores are of course generally higher, which is completely understandable, they're not supermarkets of course, I just can't get a 5 dl drink for just 90 centimes in a Migros restaurant or a Migros daily store.

I am happy to pass it on to you: the price comparison you made involves two different Migros company formats with different framework conditions. Our takeaways are run as serviced restaurants and are not comparable due to higher personnel costs, different costs for goods, rent and logistics, as well as statutory taxes. In a direct market comparison with other takeaways and restaurants, we are even cheaper than average. Best regards, Mia
