What does Migros want to do about it so that such hoarding purchases don't get out of hand? And so that everyone gets something out of it and not a few people hoard everything away.

Unfortunately, as is so often the case, the answer misses the point. I don't doubt that there are sufficient stocks and that Migros makes every effort to ensure replenishment. Nevertheless, empty shelves are a problem for many people (especially working people who can only shop after work or at the weekend). It is also of little use if you are put off by the staff: "We'll be back tomorrow". This is precisely because people currently want to expose themselves as little as possible to the risk of infection and stay at home - especially older people and those who are already in poor health. Today's people, who are controlled by their electronic brain prostheses and no longer think rationally, need paternalism, and in this case that would mean: For example, there is a maximum of one large pack of toilet paper per purchase. Even for a family, this is usually enough for at least a month. I have just had the new experience for me of repeatedly running for a tube of tomato concentrate on four shopping days spread over two weeks until I was finally lucky enough to catch the moment shortly after the refill and was able to get hold of one (it wasn't an emergency, otherwise I could have rattled off several stores and branches, but that was too stupid for me). In situations like this, you suddenly realize that humanity has gone completely mad.

After two weeks of being empty, I managed to get hold of another packet of my favorite spaghetti today (which I usually buy in stock but have now run out), hooray! Instead, the toast shelf was completely cleared out, apart from a few spurned large packs that are completely unsuitable for single-person households. I can probably forget about Hawaiian toast in the near future, I'll have to use the pineapple slices I bought on sale in winter in another way... It seems that people don't really believe the "there's enough of everything" thing. And the more often I come home with only some of the items listed on the shopping list or with spontaneous alternatives, the less inclined I am to believe it. So the cat bites its own tail and the hamster bites its own pockets... I don't want to moan, I'm flexible, frugal and grateful that I don't have to go hungry. Nevertheless, the current situation gives me pause for thought. Not because of the big distributors, but because of the human predator. I wonder how some people, who now have to stay at home, are living in their rooms, with toilet paper, pasta, rice, tinned food and toast stacked up to the ceiling to the left and right of the narrow passageways... And in a few months' time, these items will be available to buy almost for free because their expiration date is looming. That will make me laugh my ass off...
