Good morning, I would like to ask if Crème d'Or ice creams ( and generally all Migros ice creams) are made with pasteurized ingredients and are therefore safe in pregnancy. I guess yes but on the packaging the indication does not appear.

In the industrial production of ice cream, for hygiene reasons, fresh eggs are not used but a pasteurized egg mass is used. Also raw milk and its derivatives cannot be used for hygiene reasons. Crème d'Or ice creams on sale at Migros can therefore also be consumed by pregnant women.
The common recommendation to avoid consumption of raw milk and raw milk products during pregnancy is too limited.
In order to avoid listeriosis, certain dairy products should be avoided during pregnancy: raw milk and its derivatives (excluding hard and extra-hard cheese), soft and semi-hard cheese made from pasteurized milk (as a result of the ripening process, soft and semi-hard cheeses can be contaminated with listeria despite pasteurization), feta and blue cheese such as gorgonzola.
The following dairy products can be consumed without problems:
It should also be kept in mind that raw meat (e.g., tartare), raw fish (e.g., sushi) and smoked fish (e.g., salmon) as well as ready-to-eat salads (i.e., salad that has already been washed and cut) can also transmit listeriosis.
Listeriosis during pregnancy can lead to miscarriage or serious illness for the baby. The pathogens are very resistant bacteria (listeria) that can reproduce even in the refrigerator. They even survive freezing and drying, while being eliminated by cooking, grilling, sterilization, and pasteurization.

Thank you Sina. You made a very useful summary and I will certainly take it into account. Sometimes it is difficult to juggle all the products on the market, their composition, processing.
