The Migros Enge store was remodeled in January / February of this year. Why wasn't the opportunity taken to replace the open refrigerated shelves, which cooled the entire store, with lockable ones? Generation M (keyword "closing doors") is probably just a paper tiger...

I have checked with the people responsible and received the following feedback:
We try to install doors wherever it makes sense. The only exceptions are locations that are exceptionally busy - these include the locations at Zurich main station and Migros Enge.
Customer frequency is extremely high at these locations, so the doors would be opened and closed so often that it is simply not worth installing them. Due to the constant draught when opening and closing, no improvement in energy consumption can be achieved.
In addition, space is always at a premium in high-frequency stores: customers would obstruct each other while shopping.
I hope you can understand these considerations.
