Good morning,
it is news these days that from June 2019 Aldi Suisse will stop collecting empty beverage cartons (i.e. tetrapack cartons of milk, juice du fruit, soy drinks, etc.). Reason for discontinuing the pilot project: too much success! The material collected is too much and puts the company (which was making money from the sale of this material) in trouble. Isn't this nonsense? This means that there will be no more collection centers in Ticino for these kinds of containers (you can see the map of collection points at www.briquesaboisson.ch). Couldn't Migros take a step in this direction and take over what Aldi has done so far? The solution is not to abandon a working project beloved by consumers, but rather to collaborate among retailers and expand collection.
