Basil repackaged

Basilikum neu verpackt

I make my own pesto so that I don't have to eat the over-salted industrial mash. I need basil for this. Migros has recently started packaging it a little more elaborately, with a little more packaging material, but a little more expensive. Previously, basil was packaged in a small bag of 20 grams, which you could hand over to the cow bag. The new packaging looks like this: A plasticized cardboard box welded shut with a plastic lid. The only advantage is that the basil may not be compressed, but you now have to throw the garbage in the garbage can because you can't separate it. Why Migros came up with the glorious idea of packing basil in composite materials is beyond me. Everyone is shouting about the need to avoid waste and Migros itself likes to dress itself up in a green cloak. What the clever packaging designers have come up with here is a first-class prank. The new packaging is certainly not more environmentally friendly. But the customer is allowed to pay something for this amazing idea, namely 10 percent. Migros has been doing a lot, a lot lately to drive me into another store. But according to its advertising, it is trying to do an incredible amount for our environment and is becoming increasingly untrustworthy in the process.
