I wanted to give you my opinion on the bamboo shoots in your range:

Ehm, please excuse me if I'm too direct, but they stink! I can't explain why this is the case. This is not a one-off thing, but I have already bought these bamboo shoots from Chop-Stick three times on different days in different stores (the last time by mistake).

When I buy the bamboo shoots at the Indian store or at the Coop (different brand) they don't stink (why should bamboo stink).

Maybe the "Chop-Stick" brand is specially designed that way, but you can't cook a Thai curry with it because then everything tastes like, I'll call it, "bamboo shoot specialty fragrance". Anyway, I had to dispose of my Thai curry afterwards.

Has anyone else had this experience?
