What a rip-off. 100 g heavier (+33%) but 90 centimes more expensive (+45%). From now on, I will no longer buy a crusty wreath at Limmatplatz. The increase in weight makes a bread roll much too big.

Hello@Vollmeiner
I have received the following information about the Krustenkranz:
Since April 2016, the in-house bakery has been producing the crusty wreath in the new AdR (Aus der Region) quality.
As you have correctly noted, the recipe has been adapted and the weight increased. This means that the AdR Krustenkranz is no longer directly comparable with the TerraSuisse Krustenkranz.
- The price increase is justified because the raw materials for the dough are produced and sourced from the Zurich region. In addition, the product is 100g heavier (as you have already noted).
- The higher weight also means that the crusty wreath stays fresh for longer (the smaller the rolls, the sooner they dry out).
- The CoR crusty wreath is "only" produced in the in-house bakery branches (27 branches). The standard Krustenkranz from the regional bakery is still available in the other branches.
Kind regards
Tanja
