Lindt and Toblerone from April 2021

Ab April 2021 Lindt und Toblerone

Edited

I've just received a press release from Migros informing me that it will be adding Lindt and Toblerone products to its range from April 2021. This will reduce the proportion of own-brand products to around 75 percent. https://www.migros.ch/de/unternehmen/medien/mitteilungen/show/news/medienmitteilungen/2020/kommunikation-schokolade.html @Migros: It's a real runaway - in the truest sense of the word!

...wow ...frighteningly simple. Migros is going down with waving flags instead of retaining the status it once held and helped to change Switzerland: its own soul, its own products, recognition value. Migros children, that's what we called ourselves, the design of MBudget became cult ... and m Lidl Hats Lindor balls for 4 instead of 8 Sfr, also hazelnut, lots of varieties. I don't understand why Migros now sells them at prices that are guaranteed not to be the same.

Please, for heaven's sake, don't remove Mahony from the range (it's far better than Toblerone) - I'd like to place a thousand scare emoji here

This is also a perfectly suitable alternative to Toblerone: https://produkte.migros.ch/baerner-schoggi

Let's take another look in 2-3 years when the range is (rightly) streamlined. Then Mahony will be gone and there will be a few rambling, half-true sentences like now (see Blick interview). Instead of the management showing courage and asking the cooperative members about certain strategic issues (like when the USP price on the product was shot down with far too high costs and stupid arguments - this still only helps to increase prices in the short term, you can always charge less than what is labeled and the best-before date has to be printed on the food anyway, why not the price at the same time. But then, as now, there is still a lot of mumbo-jumbo (just short of lying, the framework conditions are simply made to look so much better, nicer, more important, more necessary and the inclined cooperative member has no chance of making a realistic judgment about anything. They shouldn't/aren't allowed to. What kind of management would it be if the owner suddenly wanted to have a say in the strategy and the employee Mr. Zumbrunnen had to explain himself honestly and honestly - where is there such a thing ...? ).

Ohhh, is this only available regionally? Unfortunately I've never seen it here in north-western Switzerland, but I would buy it immediately :-)

Hello Nachtspalter, thank you for your message. I would be happy to comment on this issue. Many of our brands are extremely popular with our customers, and it is part of our job to constantly review the current market situation so that we can respond to the changing wishes and preferences of our customers. Lindt and Toblerone products are very popular in Switzerland and are an ideal addition to our chocolate range, which is why we have decided to integrate them into our portfolio. As a result, we now offer the largest and most varied range of chocolate in Switzerland. This expansion offers our customers added value. Frey chocolate will continue to make up the bulk of the range. The 75% you mention makes it clear that the proportion of private label will remain the same - and not decrease. Best regards, Tabea

Yes, exactly - the best example of this is the recent disappearance of Eimalzine! I think this is a shame and Coop's Ovomaltine will never be able to replace Eimalzin. The merger between Migros and Coop continues to grow...

Hello mamam, yes, Bärner Schoggi is only available regionally in the Migros Cooperatives Aare and Eastern Switzerland. You can find out exactly in which stores on our website: https://produkte.migros.ch/baerner-schoggi. But beware: stocks can change quickly. It is therefore worth calling the store before visiting. At least if you want to go to the store mainly for the chocolate. Best regards, Sina
