I remember my mother buying an avocado for the first time around 40 years ago. Unfortunately, by the time we wanted to eat it, it was no longer edible, i.e. it was probably already soft and therefore brownish in colour. Today, I love avocados and have probably eaten more than a thousand of them in my life. As my wife comes from Central America, I have also eaten them there. Unfortunately, it is very often the case that the fruit on sale in Migros is already too soft. Since, like bananas, they arrive in Switzerland chilled on ships and then ripen again before being sold, I don't quite understand why this keeps happening. This Saturday, the organic avocados were in action. I would have liked to have taken some of them, but they were all no longer hard enough. Unlike an apple, which is slightly rotten, you can hardly use these overly soft fruits. What a shame!
