Hello karin253, we made a change because the current market is moving in the direction of packaging reduction and reusable lids. The aluminum lid is recyclable. The PET lid, on the other hand, has to be disposed of in the household waste. We have been offering the silicone lid (https://www.migros.ch/de/product/704527600000) for some time now - perhaps this is an alternative for you? Kind regards, Susi

And why should karin253 buy this silicone lid?
Why "if it were recycled"? Isn't it a matter of course that it is recycled? So we are quite meticulous about it, aluminum, cardboard, plastic, paper, etc. Yoghurt cartons, mayo tubes, shampoo bottles, toothpaste tubes - simply separate and recycle everything. There are always contradictory studies as to whether plastic or aluminum or whatever is better or worse. But I think that as long as there are no really better alternatives: Just recycle properly people please!
And why should karin253 buy this silicone lid?
Dear Susi, thank you for your answer. I am working intensively on ecological issues, including my studies. It is correct that, unlike plastic lids, aluminum is or could be recycled. But I see a lot of people throwing aluminum in the trash in their private and professional lives. Unfortunately, this is my negative perspective. But what is rarely considered is that the production of aluminium causes huge environmental damage, personal suffering and requires a huge amount of energy. Unfortunately, I find this development negative. and yes: I agree with Yoliboli: what am I supposed to do with a silicone lid now? Fortunately, I buy many yoghurts directly from the farmer, in glass, returnable and only a small plastic lid is disposed of. The Toni yoghurt jars used to be returnable too, but unfortunately there was never a successor.
