Plums in 1 kg cardboard boxes...

Zwetschgen in 1 kg Kartonschachteln...

This approach may make ecological sense, but I have noticed time and again recently that the contents have been heavily manipulated. It always affects the most beautifully ripened fruit, where the contents are visibly smaller and when you put it on the scales, there are still 900g or even less in the 1 kg box.
Wouldn't it make sense to use a transparent film? ... because I have never had this experience of weight loss with seedless grapes and berries.
What is the correct procedure if you want to buy such an appealing but underweight packaging unit and there happens to be no staff in the relevant department?
