Does anyone know how the rating option for the variety of preparations for certain products is to be understood?

In the case of a bakery item, if you rate the preparation variety and this item is only available in one preparation type, you only have to give one star, as there is only one product or there is no variety.

Can anyone help? I couldn't find anything in the search...
