From my point of view, society is becoming more and more aware of the environment. It seems to me that the alternative zero-waste, minimal-waste and co. scene is getting bigger and bigger. So I'm asking you whether Migro is planning to get on this bandwagon and, like Alnatura, ASC and co, set up a zero or minimal waste label under Generation M?

We already offer many items for open sale, including dried fruit and nuts as well as fresh products at the cheese and meat counters, in addition to many vegetables and fruit. Incidentally, the open sale of rice and pulses is currently being tested in Geneva. We are using this pilot to see whether and how well it works. One problem that arises is food waste, i.e. simply when the legumes are not filled properly and end up on the floor. And that shouldn't happen, of course.

We'll keep at it, but we're not planning a special line like the one you're suggesting. It doesn't make sense for us to do away with packaging altogether, sometimes we just need something around it so that it stays fresh and can be easily transported home.
