Why does the comment counter remain at "zero"?

Thanks for the tip! Indeed, if you look at a few pages at random, this "comment counter" is very idiosyncratic. I have forwarded the problem.
Maybe (hopefully) it can be fixed as quickly as the issue with the "disappeared" news articles.
