Yam bean

Yambohne

Hello everyone

Who knows yam beans and where I can buy them? I ate this vegetable as a dip in America and it was simply delicious. But where can I find them here? Does migros stock them?

Greetings

hello gia7788,
do you mean the south american tuberous vegetable that resembles our kohlrabi and can also be eaten raw and cooked? white firm flesh and brown skin?
i would recommend globus delikatessa or loeb delikatessen - but i don't know. i occasionally get my hands on the fruit when someone in my circle of friends has been to latin america :-)
good luck!

Hello gia7788

Thank you for your message. I have to admit that I don't know Yambohne at all and am therefore glad about Kathrin's detailed description - thank you!

As I'm not familiar with yam beans, I don't know at the moment whether Migros stocks them or whether this might be an option in the future. But I'll be happy to clarify this for you.

Kind regards

Hello kathrin, yes exactly these I mean, they call it jicama or something like that in america..also had to have it translated via google. Thanks tanja for clarifying, I'll have a look at globus too.
Greetings

Dear Tanja,
yes, that would interest me too! :-)

Dear Gia7788, that's right, in Mexico it's called jicama :-)
you can write here if and where you found the vegetable.

Hello everyone

Unfortunately, there are no plans to introduce yam beans in the near future. It is still too little known in our country and is therefore hardly in demand.

Kind regards
