Dear Migros
I don't need to go into the fact that plastic consumption is a problem. Despite my heightened awareness, I occasionally find myself in a situation where I have to reach for the plastic bags when buying open vegetables and fruit. Because it's not so easy to put grapes loose in the weighing scales, because I buy large quantities, or for whatever reason.
I'm sure this isn't the first thread in which plastic bags have been discussed, but I'd still like to put forward my idea: how about offering reusable nets for sale directly next to the open goods? The following points would be particularly important to me for such nets:
- Small weight and volume (so you can always have them with you)
- Washable
- Natural / recycled material
- You should be able to fill them directly while shopping, even if you haven't paid for them yet.
- Mesh not too big so that grapes etc. cannot fall through.
Brown paper bags (as we know them from the USA) have also crossed my mind as a plastic substitute, but I vaguely remember that they also have some kind of environmental catch.
I would be happy to see alternatives to plastic, be it for the Seckli for open sales or for all other products.
Merci Migros & best regards
Leonie
