In other forums, if you ignore a user in the settings, you no longer see their posts and don't get a message when they reply. I've just put someone on the ignore list who I don't want to read anything from, but nothing seems to have happened. What do I have to set where to make it work like it does in other forums?

I've already done that, but I still see his posts and still get an email when he replies. Ignoring doesn't seem to work, what a pity. Migros apparently has forum software from before the turn of the millennium where you can't even distinguish topic areas or sub-forums. That's a joke in this day and age.
Many small clubs use BurningBoard-Lite or buy an older full version of the software cheaply online. You can do much more with it than what Migros is doing here. Migros doesn't seem to think it's worth running a proper forum for customers' questions. Maybe this is a hint or an answer to your question in the other Fred about Migipedias future.

Perhaps the subject in question or a thread is in "My subscriptions"? Then I would delete it there...
Never had any problems. Lithium is great. I've blocked everything for years and never received a message. You just have to know how!

I have tried blocking everything, but it doesn't help. It's not about notifications in general, but only about specific ones. Ignoring does not work properly and hiding is not possible here. We both seem to understand the term "top" differently. For example, I like order and don't always like to search for everything, so I think topic structures and sub-forums are great. There can be no question of an overview in this forum, it's more reminiscent of the Messie syndrome. But it is understandable that with the usual reply mentality here, you prefer chaos. It even gives you one more excuse.
The topics used to be structured. This was abolished almost two years ago with the new Migipedia, where users were able to make requests six months in advance.

With the volume of posts here, I don't think there's any need for further structuring. There are enough communities that create 100 sub-forums right at the beginning where, with a lot of luck, one post per month will be added. But then every newcomer is sure to post in the wrong forum. Completely nonsensical if you ask me. From about 20 posts per forum and day you might start to think about it, then it gets too confusing.
And about the kill file/ignore list: it works differently with Lithium than with WBB, vB and the like. It only prevents the ignored person from writing you PNs, nothing more. Looking over it is out?
