We have never heard of this problem before, and clarifications with the supplier have not provided any explanation. Watermelon consists of 96% water, so we cannot explain the drying out.
Of course, it is important to us to always offer very good quality in our stores. We try to guarantee this by setting clear requirements for our suppliers on the one hand and by carrying out strict checks on incoming goods on the other. However, we are aware that, in individual cases, poorer quality goods can sometimes be found in our stores. I'm sorry that you obviously got such a product.
Certain quality defects sometimes only become apparent after some time or are barely visible. However, we are constantly working to prevent this as far as possible.
You can return products with defects to the store's customer service department at any time. They will check the goods and refund the purchase amount.

And you didn't notice anything about the weight of the melon in the store? It should be noticeably lighter because it's hollow.
