In Germany there are apparently toilet paper rolls that dissolve in water and can therefore be flushed down the toilet. See here. This is the future. This is science! We need this! I would be quite prepared to pay more if I could flush the rolls down the toilet.
I haven't seen this in Switzerland yet.

It's really something we don't need. If the inner part of the toilet roll is made of cardboard, you can dispose of it in the landfill free of charge. It is then recycled. If it is disposed of in the toilet through the flush, the cellulose and foreign bodies have to be laboriously filtered out in the sewage treatment plant?
I can only agree with Istanbul.
When I wipe my nose with toilet paper in the loo, I don't even throw the paper down the toilet, I throw it in the bin. Because I once heard that paper takes a long time to disintegrate.
You underestimate my laziness. I don't recycle. I throw everything in the bin. If you could flush the rolls down the toilet instead, that would be a huge relief for me.

Ah, I misunderstood (and I admit I was distracted for a moment when the video was on ?). By "water-soluble" I meant something that dissolves without residue and doesn't need to be filtered. On the other hand, a lot of cellulose is generally flushed into the sewage system - namely the toilet paper itself.
I don't even know if there are any studies on how many cardboard rolls are actually recycled. And then it would certainly also play a role what exactly that means in production...
We will probably not be able to completely resolve the question of sense or nonsense here. But like all suggestions, I will submit them to the relevant authorities. If there is any news on this, I will let you know. :)

Now that's what I call a real prosperity problem. Can the outer shell (packaging) also be "flushable", but at the same time survive the journey home in April weather undamaged? Triple organic and still care for and flatter your bottom?

My husband is the manager of a large sewage treatment plant and the amount of waste that washes up there. It makes your hair stand on end.
